Remington Sportsman 48 issue. I just purchased a clean, working 48, and it's recoil-actuated. I removed the barrel and forearm to clean it, after getting it home. As far as removing the pin, yes after it’s driven down, you should be able to remove the firing pin. Mine was to long and bottoming out on the slide before it cleared the bolt.
