EXEGESIS: CONTEXT: Psalm 107 has much in common with Psalms 105 and 106. It calls those whom Yahweh has redeemed (or saved) to praise or thank (Hebrew: yadah) Yahweh, for he is good and his loving kindness endures forever. The psalmist then speaks of some of the adversities from which Yahweh has delivered his people. He tells of Yahweh: For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good. For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. For he hath satisfied the empty soul, and hath filled the hungry soul with good things. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and the hungry soul he filleth with good. For he satisfies the longing soul. Psa 107:1. ¶.
