The property is comprised mostly of forest, wetlands, river (warm water), stream (cold water) and grasslands. Ahnapee State Trail runs through the property.McKenzie Creek Fish and Wildlife Area is in north-central Washburn County on Highway F, 1 mile east of Highway K. The property is 160 acres along with trout stream easements downstream to the Namekagon River. There is a parking lot off Highway F at the southeast corner of the property off Mack Lake Road, 1/2 mile to the north of Highway F.
