For safety reasons that single part is probably the most fail safe piece on the whole car. Aug 11, 2019 · Dreaded VTEC P2646 code - Tried everything. Well, my 2005 Element (212K miles) became infected with the P2646 VTEC malfunction code last week. CEL comes on and goes into limp mode (won't go over 2800 RPM). Turn the ignition off and back on, and it goes out of limp mode but usually comes back on soon.
