So my father-in-law bought a GSG 1911-22 in Arizona. He would like to give it to my wifeb, but it has a threaded barrel which is not allowed in California where we are. I can't find a replacement barrel anywhere let alone without threads. I know we can gall the threads or permanently affix the thread protector, but we would rather not if ...GSG 1911 22. I just returned from shooting about 100 rounds thru my GSG 1911 22 with no issues. But after disassembling it and cleaning it, I started to reassemble it. When I feed the barrel back into the slide, it will not go all the way inside it. It stops about a quarter of the way in. I've tried putting oil etc. on it, but it will not go in.
