The little boxes (usually Xid’s or Xi3’s) are satellite boxes to the main box AND HAVE NO INTERNAL TUNER. What that means is that if you are watching tv on each of the other boxes then one of the DVR’s tuners is being used to watch tv per box. Which is why they limit you to three little boxes per “hub” box (dvr or xg2).If you have an XG2 you more than likely do not have full DVR service in you’re package. You have 10 or 2 hours of cloud DVR depending on market. If you’re package has fulll DVR go switch the xg2 for and xg1v4 4K DVR which has physical local storage in addition to the cloud storage. You’re secondary box is a DTA you can swap it for an XID ... The XG2 is capable of being a cloud DVR. It has no hard drive. The store was trying to give you a physical DVR XG1 which has more recording capacity. This setup without an XG1 is fairly new in some areas so the store rep probably was not aware.
