Going Fighter 1 for proficiency and then 5 level into warlock for pact of the blade + extra attack+Devil's sight+darkness, is a good starting point. From there you can go into fighter until level 3 and add more warlock. There's an argument at this point for respeccing your stats, since you'll be able to use CHA instead STR for attacking.In that case wizard might be better since you can just scribe the utility spells you want. Or go all broken and do GOO 5 / Battlemaster 5 / Paladin 2. I think GOO 5/ BM 5 / Pala 2 would probabaly be optimal for two handed weapons. Sword bard will be what I try out next respec/play though. If you’d like, you can respec into the class, try out the skills in a battle and reload your save ...One thing to look out for on spell choice is to not take too many Concentration spells, since you can only have one up at a time. In this case though Tasha's is concentration but Whispers is not, so they work just fine together. For Cantrips, Eldritch Blast is a must, but Blade Ward is a pretty big trap.
