I know there was some expanded material in 3.5 or Pathfinder 1E that allowed you to add claw damage to unarmed strikes in a few situations, but I know of nothing like that in 5E or Pathfinder 2E... but even in the previous edition the primary use was for Warlocks with the Eldritch Claws blast shape invocation.
